KAS cornemuse Welcome Patrick Molard

It was with the greatest of pleasure that the members of KAScornemuse and their instructors welcomed a prestigious figure in the world of piping, namely Patrick Molard. This was the second occasion that Patrick gave a master-class on pibroch , the classical music of the Great Highland Bagpipe.

Following an exposé of the merits and origins of this unique musical tradition, Patrick introduced us to the Urlar(ground or theme) of « The Company’s Lament ». Here the master player and teacher his impressive qualities through his explanations, illustrations and invitations to join in via song and practice chanter. We even covered the variations and everyone was delighted to be empowered in this exemplary manner. Furthermore, Patrick has expressed his desire to accompany us regulalry on our voyage of discovery and we are all looking forward to the next episode.

The evening terminated in a delicious repast accompanied by good wine and Breton farm cider supplied by the pupils.
